001.sicily is the 1st beat of 20 and the opener to project headphones.  

The musical themes happening here pay homage to downtempo music from the 90's similar to Portishead.  The vinyl crackle is authentic and the main sample is a ghostly guitar that I pitched down and applied warble.  The drums come from my personal collection, which could be a post in of itself.  This drum collection has been with me for over 20 years and has been carried upon many USB drives and now resides in the Cloud.  

In the middle of the beat I chose a macabre monologue from a character on Season 2 of The White Lotus, where he speaks about the beauty of this world.  It's an odd juxtaposition because this character is a piece of shit, so I thought it was a bit of injected dark humor.  I elected to keep the beat sparse, devoid of any low end. It creates mystery and a slight tension, yet also hugs you closely.

For the visualizer, I have been tinkering with digital collage art for a couple of years, and I think this has subtle traces of that.  The backdrop and scenery depict an old, ancient and abandoned Sicilian Village.  And our unnamed protagonist donning his space suit circa 1960's is out exploring.  Could he be a time traveler, a specter, or an other worldly relic collector?  Stay tuned for the next episode!  001.sicily audio and visuals release: 03.01.25 on all DSP's.
