When I pulled the sample from everyday break, I was immediately drawn to 1920's Chicago. It was the first thing that came to mind once the beat came together and so I ran with it. This beat is a bouncy, jazzy lo-fi bop.
To elevate it a bit, I pinged my ChatGPT assistant dubbed: ChatBro and queried it for films that take place in 1920's Chicago. It immediately pulled up the film Road To Perdition starring Tom Hanks, which also happens to be one of my favorite films. At first I wanted to pull atmospheric ambience and add it as texture to this beat. However, another option ChatBro spit out was from a much older film starring Marilyn Monroe called: “Some Like it Hot”.
So I jumped on YouTube, watched some clips, and I loved the way the dialogue was delivered as well as her smoky, sultry voice and laugh. In the end, that's what I decided to use and I'm happy with the result.
For the visualizer, we only get one scene with our protagonist. In it they appear to be in a meditative state. What are they doing? Absorbing their surroundings? Scanning the area? Stay tuned for the next episode! 002.everyday break audio and visuals release: 03.15.25 on all DSP's.
